Coping Theories: Tips for Coping with Difficulties

1. Keep friends who understand you and who are cheerful versus friends who pity you.
2. Hold on to interests and develop new ones. Keep active.
3. Laugh a lot. Find things that are funny. Laugh at yourself.
4. Love others and allow others to love you.
5. Accept your emotions. They are you. Let them happen.
6. Find ways to enjoy your abilities.
7. Stress will always be a part of your life. Anticipate stress and recognize the antecedents to your stress.
8. Healing is a slow process. Don't try to rush it
9. Help others.
10. Know your needs and assertively satisfy them.
11. Understand your body and recognize it's signals.
12. You are not disabled. You are differently abled!
13. Keep a daily journal of your achievements.
14. Experience yourself as a wonderful person.
15. Reveal Your Spiritual Self.
