Healing Community Seeking...
Volunteer Help to join a healing community to work land in exchange for onsite housing and meals. Work with Shaman Elder Maggie Wahls to develop and cultivate this healing community. A unique opportunity to live and become one with nature, and become part of this unique healing community.

Mission
Life Healing Community (LHC) is a holy and sacred place in Winona, Missouri. Many miraculous healings of body mind and spirit have been given to visitors here. These healings come not from any person or method but from this holy land directly. Our mission is to provide comfort and safety to all visitors from around the world. LHC is located within the Mark Twain National Forest in the Ozark Mountains in the south east corner of the state about four hours south of St. Louis by car. This place is virgin forest, never lived on before. We are in the process of building housing, dining facilities, paths, trails and more for visitors to have a peaceful healing experience here.

Volunteer Project
We are seeking a volunteer to help nurture this land in this direction. We intend to keep Mother Earth in her natural state while making it possible for visitors to be here in comfort and safety. We need a volunteer who loves Mother Earth and knows about her ways and needs. Someone who knows the trees and plants and can cultivate her without destroying her, to cut overgrown bushes and brambles, to protect native seedlings, to create walking paths, to remove debris, to spend the summer working with Mother Nature, to groom her in this never before lived in place and let her be the forest she is and also make it safe and comfortable for others.

Skills Needed
Knowledge of forest plants trees, wind, and water are necessary. We cannot teach. We need someone already experienced in these areas; someone with a true love for the earth and the desire to work with her own ways. Ability to chop, saw, and carry, mow and seed, and tend the forest. The trees are cedar and oak so experience in working with a forest setting is necessary. Someone who can be trusted and can work independently is needed. The needs are obvious, how the work is accomplished is the responsibility of the volunteer. You are what you do.

Time commitment
One month at minimum. Hopefully from May to October 2007. Could be a recurring yearly assignment if desired.

Work Schedule and Compensation
Independent daily daylight hours work in cooperation with the director of LHC. On site housing in campsite fully equipped is provided. Three meals a day are provided, kitchen sharing facilities are permitted. This is rustic living, camping in a forest. NO TV, limited phone ability, no internet, sun showers and outhouses. Volunteer can bring own camper or RV. A chance to truly be with and work with the Earth. Compensation is strictly camp housing and meals. Mother Earth will offer her own kind of pay for your work, blessings beyond belief! Also opportunities to attend drum circle, council fires and more with the visiting public.
