Hello all,
Thank you again for your questions about helping our Amish neighbors. As many of you know, I work for an Amish barn builder based in Paradise, PA, near Nickel Mines. Some of the children shot, are relatives of my co-workers. One of my closest Amish friends is the first cousin of the father of the Miller girls, Lena, 7 and Mary Liz 8, who died together at the school. Another two friends have their relatives still in the hospital, fighting for their lives. It has been very difficult watching friends and their families go through this horrible ordeal.
Now that it has been more than a week, and children are still in critical condition at various hospitals, the family members that I have spoken to have expressed that reality is really setting in- for all of the families involved. They have also expressed to me that the parents and siblings are being comforted not only by their families and community, but also by the prayers and cards of strangers, hoping some good can come out of this terrible tragedy.
I will be delivering cards to an Amish friend weekly, who will then personally deliver the cards to the families. Cards can be mailed to the families in care of me:

As the medical bills mount, they will never ask for help, and they will somehow make sure every bill is paid in full. A tax deductible foundation called the "Anabaptist Foundation, Nickel Mines School Victims Fund" has been set up. Information about the fund and links to Paypal can be found at:
