Numerology: When Your Dreams are Numbered

The principle of numerology is the study of the qualitative meanings of numbers. Developed thousands of years ago, the present system of numerology is based upon the teachings found in the Tree of Life, or Kabbalah.



Kabbalah Wisdom

In numerology, each number has a significant meaning and corresponds to a letter in the alphabet. The standard numerology system is as follows:







When working with numbers, digits are added together than reduced to a single digit.

For Example...

The year 2003 would be added together: 2 + 0 + 0 + 3 = 5. The date August 1, 2003 adds as follows: 8 + 1 + 2003 (or 5) = 14. This number then reduces to 1 + 4 = 5. Numbers always get reduced unless they are a Master Number. There are three Master Numbers: 11, 22, & 33 and these are never reduced. They are the only numbers that are an exception to this rule in the Kabbalah.

Number 6 ~ Service-oriented, responsible, security, family, traditional, patient, comfort, nurturing, caring.

Number 7 ~ Depth, spiritual, different, investigator, solitude, humanity, loner, eccentric, education, understanding.

Number 8 ~ Power, authority, control, achievement, executive, problem-solver, mental, stern, rigid, material.

Number 9 ~ Humanitarian, visionary, multi-faceted, healer, minister, educator, teacher, "big brother."

Master Number 11 ~ Inspirer, charismatic, metaphysical, artistic, sensitive, high energy, visionary.

Master Number 22 ~ Global thinker, visionary, higher consciousness, pragmatic, producer, creator.

Master Number 33 ~ Healer, master teacher, responsible, Christ consciousness, spiritual, compassionate.

Master Numbers in Numerology ~ A rule of thumb

When a Master Number appears in your dreams, it is useful to consider both the number as it is and the reduced digit since you may be functioning at either level.

Numbers in Your Waking Hours and Night-time Dreams

When understood, the numbers in your dreams have the capacity to teach you an enormous amount about yourself and your entire life. One way to increase your awareness of numbers (and what they mean to you) is to notice them when you're awake and asleep. Remember how we discussed the value of learning from the symbols in both your waking and sleeping realms? Well, this applies to numbers as well. Pay attention to numbers as they appear in your every day life. Notice the time on your clocks at home, in the car and on your computer. Numbers appear in myriad places, giving you ample opportunity to learn from them.

When numbers appear in your dreams or stands out in your waking life, take a moment to discover what it means for you. If the number 1 shows up in your dream, perhaps it's time for you take the initiative to start a new project, create a more fulfilling career, or blaze a new trail. On the other hand, if the number 5 appears, it may be time for you to speak out, make a change, or stand up for yourself.
