EARTH DAY REMINDS US TO CLEAR INNER AND OUTER POLLUTION

Email Courses Guide Us Through Process

April 22, 2002, Lambertville, NJ - Earth Day is a fitting time for Self-Healing Expressions, the provider of holistic and personal growth email courses, to announce two courses entitled:  "Healing the Earth" by environmentalist Judy Morgan, and "Living Deliberately ~ Discovering and Embracing Your Essential Life" by author Marianne Parady.

Parady's "Living Deliberately" email course is a re-interpretation of the wisdom of Henry David Thoreau. Thoreau, one of this county's premier naturalists is noted for his writings on nature and transcendentalism, a 19th century literary and philosophical movement. "When you live deliberately, you become more aware and conscious of your inner and outer worlds, while taking purposeful steps toward wholeness and fulfillment. Only then can you come to the end of your life, knowing that you have truly lived," states Parady in lesson one.

Using commentary and exercises such as visualization or journaling, the email learner is challenged to take an honest look at his or her life. "What can its (life's) 'facts' teach you? Are you living deliberately, or pushing away real happiness and 'deliberately not living'?" As one reflects on the state of the environment this month, never has living deliberately been so important.

In his book The Power of Now, Eckhart Tolle links inner pollution with outer pollution saying, "The pollution of the planet is only an outward reflection of an inner psychic pollution: millions of unconscious individuals not taking responsibility for their inner space... As within, so without: If humans clear inner pollution, then they will also cease to create outer pollution."

In contrast, Morgan's "Healing the Environment" email course first informs then guides one towards take responsibility for reducing or eliminating "outer pollution" as it exists in daily living. She informs us of the state of the earth, warning that the greatest threat to the global environment is the American life-style. "While making up only 4% of the earth's population, we U.S. citizens produce 25% of the gases contributing to global warming; consume 25% of the world's oil," states Morgan who has worked with the NJ Department of Environmental Protection for 15 years. She goes on to lead learners toward practical actions they can take at home and on a community level. She also points us toward a variety of online and offline resources on the subject.

Rev. Charles J. Stephens had this to say about the course, "I found a good balance in the course written by Judy Morgan. As someone who is already quite environmentally active, I found the course supportive of what I am doing as well as thought and action provoking. Plus I found useful information in the course and even more in the additional resources listed at the end of each lesson."
