That Help Us Improve Our Lives
By June Soyka Cook, founder of

New e-Book Provides Seekers with Awesome Reading List and
Access to 100s of Articles by Leading Self-Help Authors
Say not, "I have found the truth", but rather, "I have found a truth. Say not,
"I have found the path of the soul." Say rather, "I have met the soul walking
upon my path." For the soul walks upon all paths. The soul walks not upon a line, neither
does it grow like a reed. The soul unfolds itself, like a lotus of countless petals.
~ Khalil Gibran, On Self-Knowledge, The Prophet
Any true seeker knows that Spirit provides us with many teachers
along the journey of life. And sometimes these teachers appear in the form of a book, article,
workshop or CD. Sometimes such materials seem to naturally find us and other times we
actively seek them out because we're ready to hone a particular skill or gain deeper insight
into a particular concept.
Whether you are active in the self-help field or are a committed life long
learner who enjoys learning about leading authors and their book titles, we have
surfaced an
awesome
resource guide in the form of an e-book we think you will appreciate and of find great value.
David Riklan, president and founder of Self Improvement Online, Inc., has written a handy
resource guide, entitled
Self Improvement: The Top 101 Experts That Help Us Improve Our Lives.
In what appears to have been a time staking project, Riklan
has catalog 101 leading authors and teachers into a
unique resource book
that spiritual seekers and personal growth enthusiast alike will find both valuable and easy to use.
"The Top 101 Experts will save you an enormous amount of time and effort. . . the two most
precious assets you have. I refer to it constantly."
~ Mike Brescia, President,
Think Right Now! International
The book features a group of leading yet diverse authors and teachers who specialize in
areas such as spirituality, motivation, goal setting, and personal growth. To name a few. . .
featured Spiritual Leaders include the Dali Lama,
Thich Nhat Hanh, and Eckhart Tolle;
motivational speakers/authors include the likes of Tony Robbins
and Stephen Covey. Also present are personal growth authors like
John Bradshaw, as well as, artists such as
Julia Cameron and Sark.
When I opened the table of contents with the long list of names (and what they were best
known for), I was so excited I didn't know which one to look up first! I was familiar with many
of the names and their works but not all. And some authors whose books I had read had
other materials I was unaware of, which I could easily explore on the spot. I also found
their background bios of interest and I really appreciated the link
provided to their online articles and audio clips!
Immediate Access To. . .
- An objective list of the top 101 experts in the Self Improvement Industry.
- Access to hundreds of articles and book excerpts from these 101 top experts.
- Access to hundreds of audio clips from these experts.
- Detailed contact information for each and every one of these experts.
- An immediately accessible e-book with direct links to over 100 resources on
Self Improvement and Personal Growth.
The overall list is well done although some leading authors/teachers that we appreciate
were missing from the list, such as
Pema Chödrön.
Others however that we are less
enthused about (we won't name names here) were included. But one can appreciate
the difficulty of narrowing such a list down to just 101 people and the desire to keep
list diverse - for everyone is at a different place in their journey.
Each chapter features one "Expert" with a short biography followed by an
array of quotes giving you a feel for their background, philosophy and core values. Rather
than just tell you about each author, a sampling of their work in the form of notable
quotes, thoughts and passages allow the reader to form an educated opinion about the
author and their material. Each chapter concludes with a list of material authored or
produced by this person, a link to articles and audio clips by the person, and contact
data for that person.
This book,
affordably priced at $27, is basically a 460-page encyclopedia that does more
than just list the popular names in Self Improvement. Riklan educates you on these men
and women and lets you reason for yourself why they attract such a following
and whether you want to pursue their material for yourself at
this time - or down the road. How wonderful that David Riklan offers us this as a well
written, well organized
resource
of dynamic authors and teachers to seek out!
