Holiday Blues: Solutions for Spiritual Singles

The holiday season can stir feelings of loneliness and yearning for singles. With all the emphasis on gift giving and gathering with loved ones, you become acutely aware that you've no special someone of your own to share these special days with. But rather than lament the absence of your soul mate, acknowledge these feelings and the strong drive and desire to be with a person who is the "love of your life." Recognize this as a cue from the Universe that your soul mate is getting closer.

Don't hate being single. Use times of longing and yearning for love to prepare. Assess the state of your life and begin to create the life you want to be leading -- even if there is no one to share it with yet.

Heal and move on from the past. Use times of longing and yearning for love to prepare. Liberate yourself from obstacles that stand in the way of love by healing old heartaches, relationships and self-sabotaging relationship patterns. Now is the time to make decisions about letting go any relationships that no longer serve you.

Acknowledge what's out of place in life -- physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and financially - and take action to put things into balance. Take the time to enjoy single life, heal yourself from past love mishaps and traumas and give thought to the love you really want, so you can learn to discern true love maturely and with confidence when your soul mate knocks on your door.
